Character
Name: Producer-san
Series: The Idolm@ster
Timeline: Anime, Ep. 9
Canon Resource Links: Here's the standard Wikipedia link and... here is Producer-san's link in the IM@S wiki.
Personality:
The Producer is average, to say the least, which is normal considering that before the anime aired, the Producer was actually a faceless and voiceless protagonist similar to the Hero in most Persona games as well as the Dragon Quest series. He is not good at anything, nor is he bad at anything, its just that he's so average that you don't think of him that much, then again, he is used to this so it doesn't really surprise him when his opinions are taken lightly or being made fun of. Even so, he still aspires to become an important person that the idols can lean on at the time of need, as well as getting enough money to live his life normally.
While an average person in the whole, there is indeed one characteristics that made him sort of stand-out from his peer, which is his general good nature. He'll definitely help anyone that seems to need his help, as well as constantly giving his best in order to be closer to the idols (not in that way you pervs). This is shown in the anime as well as the games and the Drama CD as he often offers encouraging words in addition giving promises to the idols. As far as being producer goes, The Producer is definitely one of the more nicer ones who tends to be like a big brother to most of them barring Azusa, who is actually around the same age as him.
He is also very protective of the idols, as well as showing a lot of concern for them, just like any other producer regarding the people he's well. Producing. You can see him visibly worrying when Azusa got lost and involved with a wedding bride switch-up (its complicated), even if he spent most of the time running after Makoto to also make sure that she does not rush headlong into dangerous situations (she did it anyways). Not only that, he also goes along with whatever the younger idols are thinking of doing, such as the event where Ami and Mami tries to solve the case of a missing jelly, where he actually went along with Mami to do a 'little stake-out' at the place where the 'suspect' should be at the time.
Another part of the Producer that's very important for him on his road to get the idols to stardom is his definite drive, as he's a person who is determined to see through a goal to the end. In fact, this is what drove him to apply as a producer of 765 Pro, as he wanted to become the best Producer to the girls, so they can all be Top Idols. This was shown during the episode that takes place after Ryuugu Komachi debuted, as the Producer was so absorbed in finding more works for the other Idols that he... mixed up on the matters of 'which Idol goes where', causing some mayhem and confusion for the idols and Producer-san alike.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+Determination: He's a pretty determined person when he puts his mind into it, even if he doesn't turn into a super human when fired up.
+Kindness: He's pretty much a nice person who will help whenever asked to, and gives his all in doing so.
-Plain: He... doesn't exactly stand out from other people. Which might be a problem whenever you're trying to look for him in a crowded area.
-Klutz (Weak): Whenever pressured, there's a chance of him screwing up whatever he's doing then and there.

Ahh...
[There's an awkward person in a business suit staring at the screen, he looks to be in a mix of confusion and amazement at the Gear, apparently.
Not to mention the Igglybuff attached to his leg.]
Could... someone explain to me just what is going on here? There was this odd lady who thought that she was my 'mother' and pushed me outside of the house with...
Um, what's your name, again?
[Said Igglybuff continues cuddling his leg in addition to letting out a cry of 'Igglybuff'!, which at least]
Igglybuff, right.
[He looked a bit weirded out at that, but then that look changed into an awkward smile.]
So, if someone could tell me more about this situation, it would be very appreciated.
Third Person Sample:
Today started off nicely, the Producer thought as he sat down on the bench right outside Goldenrod's City Pokémon Center. The sun was shining, the sky's clear, and he is getting used to this new routine of waking up, traveling and taking care of them, sometimes not neccessarily in that order. He then released two of his Pokémon, Igglybuff and Togepi, and let them off to play, while he took care of his other businesses.
Everything seemed fine for a while, until:
"Yes, that's the one, could you send it ov-"
The Producer found himself being cut off in the middle of his sentence by a certain crying Igglybuff tugging at his pant's legs during his conversation with a store manager in the Goldenrod Department Store through the Gear. Heaving a sigh, he decided to stop whatever he's doing and covered the mouthpiece, before regarding the Igglybuff with a soft voice, so as not for the sound to be transferred over to the receiver.
"What's wrong?"
The crying Igglybuff pointed at a general direction, which caused the Producer to quirk his eyes, before actually looking at the direction the Igglybuff pointed at.
"...Ah."
Was the only thing he can utter at the scene in front of him, which was not a surprising thing to do, considering what greeted his eyes could be considered a weird scene. No, it was a weird scene, regardless, as his newly hatched Togepi seemed to be waving its fingers around, which seemed innocent until you realized that the egg Pokémon's finger-waving was the cause of all the... incidents around the three of them, such as the flaming lamp post, the gusts of wind blowing several women's skirt up and showing off their you-know-whats, as well as the occassional earthquake that caused passer-by to trip and fall.
Not to mention the flying rocks that crashed through the shop windows.
Staring back at his Pokégear, the Producer decided to do the right thing.
"...Um. Can I call back later? There seems to be a problem here."
Disconnecting before the other party could say anything, the Producer immediately set out to stop his Togepi's finger waggling before it could cause any more problems for the day.
